THE COVENANT
 

The Covenant band was formed in 2015 and originated from John Lumpkin to his friends Joshua Bowlus and Tori Peoples. The band has been devoted not only to standards but also to sacred works and originals. The Covenant is a group that has songs that carry the message of love, hope, and acceptance through the struggles of humanity.

The Spiritual Side of Duke" is a presentation of some of Duke Ellington's Sacred Works, Hymns, and Negro Spirituals.  This has been executed with the John Lumpkin Trio and can be performed with a larger ensemble.  The Sacred Works were described by Duke as "One of his best works", and I was privileged to carry on his music about the gospel.
